The Ultra Trail Serra da Freita needed a documentary that captured the essence and challenges of organising and participating in this unique trail running event. We created a concept that gives viewers a detailed look back at day 1 of the National Trail Running event, from the inspiration that led José Moutinho to create this event in 2006, to the present day, one of the most prestigious trail running events in Portugal. Our focus was on the passion of all the people who help to organise this event and also, of course, on the runners, on overcoming the challenges along the way and on the exciting moments that characterise the event.

We worked with a small, agile team to ensure that key moments of the race were captured authentically and non-intrusively. We used a cinematic approach that allowed the audience to feel like they were right in the middle of the action, while highlighting the natural beauty of Serra da Freita and the determination of the athletes.

The end result was a moving documentary that offers a unique perspective on the Ultra Trail Serra da Freita, captivating audiences with the intensity and beauty of this iconic trail running event.
